I used to have a 6.0 crew, and the gas mileage was 11 on its best day running down hill on the expressway, the duramax is worth every single penny, and then some, you will never go back to gas.

I had a 312 and towed it with a 2500 suburban with the 6.0 motor. It did fine but any more boat or less truck would have been a problem......We still have the truck but don't use it for towing anymore. It gets 12-13 with everyday driving and was around 10 towing.
Loved the boat but had to move up (382). As you noted, those 30's are too big for the engines based on WOT but they do provide good cruise speeds.. (boat normally runs 28's)

I would rather have a used late model duramax, than a new 6.0, just my opinion, my mile per gallon on the read out on the dash says avg 18.6 right now, its fast as hell too.

I want black with some black wheels. It's gotta be the daily driver for a few years too, so I want it to be somewhat nice. Luckily my new job will be 16 miles a day round trip, so milage is not an issue for that.
