Sliding cabin door issue...

Well my daughter spent the day at a friends b-party, so it was just the wife and I running on the river yesterday. This means we can run faster in the rough and bit closer to the edge learning more how the boat handles. It was an exhilarating and awesome day! Probably had the props out of the water at least 10 times where the boat re-entered perfectly. Although... had one launch where the stern tripped on the next wave causing the bow to slam down pretty hard. After we stopped we noticed the cabin door would only open half-way. A screw from somewhere got stuck in the lower track. I am trying to figure out how the heck to get to it. Worked on it for about 30 minutes with no luck. Has anyone ever removed this door and if so, how? Appreciate any ideas you may have.

Well, it loks like we have a serious lack of solutions for this one. Time to call Formula for some assistance.

Please post the answer. My door cocks when you try to open or close it. Very tough to open or close. I have been procrastinating fixing it because I don't know where to start.

My screw comes loose every so often that holds the latch together.Never had the door stick if your sure the door is stuck on some thing I would take it out in rough water and have a passenger keep moving the door back and forth till whatever is stuck comes loose. Then you can fix it without taking a lot of the boat apart.

I have had mine come off the top hinge and it would bind up about halfway as well.

If I remember right, I took the bolts out of the bottom right hand corner of the door and this let me have some wiggle room to move it around and put it back where it belongs.

They are a pain to try and get your hands back in there which is why my daughter had to help on this one.

Good luck!

Hi all,
Had a great Friday thru Sunday boating weekend!

Regarding the door... a small screw was rolling around the lower track causing it to jam when opening. With the door closed I could see it in the track, but there was no way to reach it. So on Friday I brought to the marina a wire coat hanger and some duct tape. Cut and straightened the coat hanger and attached some duct tape to one end folded with the sticky side out. Was able to slip it in, stick it on the screw and get that rascal out of there! The door slides open and closed fine now, so no need to remove the door.

rjr - when it would hit the screw the door did cock when trying to open. I would check and be sure your lower track is free from any debri.

I discovered that the lower plastic glide came off. I don't know how 3 nyloc nuts could come unscrewed but they did.

I hope I am wrong, but it looks like I have to remove the foot rest to access the end of the door.
