Default 336 SR1 prop question

If you own a 336 what prop are you running? What top end are you seeing? I am running 25 Mirage hitting 85 but the prop just seems small for the HP. ( 525 SC's )

Hey fast!!!

what is the colors of your boat and what year !!!
did yo jsut get it?

my understanding is Fomula made only 5 in 1995 with 525sc's
mine was the first and was featured in powerboat mag, and won offshore boat of the year.
I bought it in Lake mead ( Vegas) 2 years ago
I am in holland Michigan

I have 4 blade bravos ( 24) labbed with 1.36 drive ratio
I see 75 on speedo at 5100 rpm
I want to try 3 baldes as that was what was on the baot during the PB sea trials.

my crusie is awesome at 50mph at 3100-3200 so I am not sure what I would loose in cruise with the 3 blades.....

I understand from our local formula expert in town ( ownes a lingenfelter kevlar 382) that shortie drives really make the 336 scoot !!!!

I hope to try some 3 blade 25's thsi season

Default 336

They only made 5 one with blue blowers, I have that one. I got the build sheet today from Ryan at Formula. I run 85 with Lad balanced 25 mirage cupped props at 5300 RPM. I spent 1000 on these props dialing them in. Mine is white with red stripe on the side. This is GPS not speedo.

I have had it for a year now. I only have 80 hours on it. I had innovations go through the motors from top to bottom now running 600 hp on dyno. Plus I put 2006 X1 drives on it big differance.

is this the boat in florida? or was in florda.
that one had innovation updates, and was a sister ship to my boat. red and teal z strip on side

maybe we talked already. or maybe i talked to the previous owner??

I am glad that there is confirmation on the 5 builds . that is cool.
that is what my previous owner had researched.....

when you said " they seem small for the HP" did you mean a small pitch, or a small diameter.
the "small pitch" is due to the fact that the drives are 1.36 ratio instead of the more common today ratio of 1.5

I wonder what these boats would do with a 1.5 ratio and a 28 or 29 pitch prop.......... they did not have that high of pitches back then for bravo to my understanding and that is why the 1.36 ratio was used for these speeds of these blue motor 336's

what is your cruise, or better yet, what rpm does it take for 50 on the speedo for a reference to mine. if i can maintain a good cruise I will go for the 25 3 blades instead of 24 4 blades

The X1 drive are a 1.50 ratio. Yes that is my boat. I bought a second boat and took delivery and just never use this one anymore. If it does not sell I will just keep it in my garage for 2nd boat. My wife hates to go fast so I bought a new 340 Sea Ray Express Cruiser for now. I bought the boat from a guy in Atlanta and he lived in Fla. The boat was never in salt water. He spent 70k on the motors / drives and trailer then went into BK.

it's an awesome boat
I am really surprise that boat has not sold for you.

I still wonder about the drive ratio, because if it is 1.5 then I understand your question about a small prop......
but if it is a 1.36 and you are turning 5300, and hitting 85, then it makes perfect sence to me.

do you have the phone# for Ryan at Formula? I wouldn't mind specifics directly from Formula for mine too.
