Default 242 bolster question

Can I put bolsters from an 02 353 in my 242 ls? My worry is that they may be to bulky for my boat or are these the same size as the stock 242 bolsters?

Not sure about the size VS. your current ones. You would have to measure them. I think they will be a little wider but you may be eble to keep the same room between by working with the mounting some? They certainly wont just bolt in that is for sure. You will have to get them to mount into the floor really well. I pulled up the center section of my floor and glassed in a mettal plate under the floor to thread the mounting blots into.

I've got buckets right now. So no matter what I put in I'm going to have some work to do. As to the mounting plates. I pulled the inspection hatch off that allows access to the gas tank and Formula already has aluminum plates glassed in for bolsters. So I should be good to go there. I'm curious if the 242/271 bolsters sit lower than the 353 bolters. Although I guess I could call Mcleod and order shorter legs if these seats are too tall.

what do yours measure? I just picked up a set of mcleods out of a 99 312 fastec. I can tell you those things are not light. My boat is still wrapped and will be so for about 2 more weeks. I'm just curious how much room these things are going to take up. Either way there really nice seats and I'm glad I've got them.

I will measure them tomorrow for you. I will do height, width and length. I will also measure the height of the brackets from the floor.
