New platform.
So I gave up on reworking the silent thunder, decided to buy aftermarket but couldn't afford a nice aluminum one. My dad can't get in and out of the boat on the sandbars without a platform and decent ladder so I bought a "Fun step" for $650 from Swim-platform.com. The company was great to do business with and it was really fast turnaround. Anyway the "Fun Step" is not the full length of the transom but was a lot cheaper and will work just fine for getting Pops in and out of the boat.

No offense but I really don't care for the factory ones, I don't think they flow well with the boat. I liked it better with none as well, but this works much better for the kids and grandparents this way. I would have to repaint the original as well as new gaskets, u bolts, and internal flappers, I took the cheap and easy route. It may not look as well to some but functions fine.
