Default 311 with trs drive

My son just bought a 1988 311 with TRS drives. How do we get water to the motor so we can start it in the driveway.

If it doesn't have a flushing tee, install one. Or pull the water intake hose off and rig an adapter for your water hose.

I just open up my sea strainer and drop the hose in there.

My '88 has the old original Perko strainers. I removed the lids, then drilled and tapped to 3/4 '' pipe. Use a short brass nipple and a pipe to hose adapter. Close the pick-up valves and fire it up. Just watch you don't suck the hose closed from low water pressure. After you're done, install a pipe cap in place of the adapter. It works for me.

Yup same setup as mine. hose connections are under the seat.

Btw if you do this make sure they are capped if not water pressure will cause water to come in the boat when at speed!
