Default Anyone ever polished your windshield frames?

My 252 has the silver painted windshield frame, and its in pretty sorry shape. I was thinking of trying to repaint the frame this offseason, but as I looked at it closer it looks to be stainless with just primer and paint. has anyone ever stripped the paint and polished the frame? Just curious...

Nothing looks like it was sanded. I figured I'd do what you did, tape everything off and remove the paint with thinner or stripper. Then start polishing.

The rounded one seemed to be painted...the squared off ones were polished/stainless. I had both and the painted ones were MUCH cooler. The stainless ones could not be touched in the summer sun.

Anyone try any of the new "chrome" powder coatings? They used this stuff on the intake of my Ilmor 725, and it looks great.

I had mine striped and painted this year. They came our great, the second try. I would find someone who can powder coat to insure consistency.

Did you remove the entire assembly or keep it in place?

The intake manifold on this engine is done with the chrome powdercoat that I'm talking about:
