My 400ss 502 MPI's cruises 3500 RPM = 40 MPH, top speed low 50's. All stock except for SSM exhaust with long tails thru hull with the stock Corsa mufflers, eliminated the silent choice. With the radar dome and light mast removed mine is 13' 5" on my aluminum Myco triple axle, wieghs a bit over 21,000 lbs on that trailer. You need overwide permits along with signs and flags to tow it legally. Also may need a class A CDL depending on how the DOT guy you run into interprets the law.............private vs. for hire. I tow mine with an F550 that has a full air bag rear suspension and the 19.5's so it handles the tonque weight well. Not sure I'd want to tow it with my F350 dually without a gooseneck trailer. If you do end up getting a 400ss and need a trailer let me know. I have a 2008 Manning gooseneck bunked for a 400ss that I might end up selling.

I have a 400ss with 525s runs just under 60 and has bottom paint which slows it down. Arch, radar and light are fine for towing on a Myco Alum trailer that was built a little lower than your average trailer. Tow it behind a Freightliner and would be possible with a dually but not nearly as safe.

Our 400ss with 525s hit 62 gps this weekend. No bottom paint but the bottom is pretty dirty from sitting in the river all summer.

Very, very, professionnal, even on a boat that is not his stock. I can say that compared to another place I went for another brokered boat, and I can say, the owner will not, get his boat sold by this type of guy !!! Again Nice job Pat !

Long story short, for those of you who owns these 2 type of boats, I need some reel info on:

top speed of a 37SS with 502's:
496's:

40 SS 502's: 496: 500 EFI

AlsoI was told if I wanted to tow it, besides it is a wide load, I would have to take the arch off so it is not too high on the road... any truth to this?

I also met Jonh from comstock marina in Brick new jersey, showed me the 1999 419 liste here in classified ( really a clean boat by the way) and a 2001 40SS 500 EFI. Also professionnal, took a 30 minutes drive to get to that boat to show it to me!

I'm confused a little bit on top speed they reach... Would like the speed and ''trailerability'' of the 419, but the amenities of the SS... nothing's perfect!

Thanks for your input on these questions!
I had 502's and repowered with 496's, it will touch 53 MPH with full load and fuel in the boat. Have done countless upgrades to mine, stereo, Flat screen, DVD, new cockpit Upholstery, new 496's, dash upgrade etc...
PM me if you would like for me to send you some pictures.
