292 trim tab replacements
I know several folks have replaced their Bennet tabs with Mercury 280s. Has anybody tried Victory Offshore Series replacement plates. They claim their the exact same surface size as 280s. Built from all stainless steel, powdercoated and sealed. For a fraction of the cost, $475, are these for real??
check this outat: http://victorytrimtabs.com/B%20gallery.htm Be sure to scroll over to the heavily reinforced offshore version.

As far as I know the Victory trim tabs have not been able to be bought for years. I do not know why the website is still up?? Even if you could still get those plates, you still have the junk Bennett pump that is slower than s**t and one always moves faster then the other. Also once you are in very rough water the junk plastic mounts break off if you get any air. I put Mercury racing 280s on my Fastech. Jeff Wurl

I used lenco on my 292 preformance tabs they are 25x12 best improvement I have every made on. A boat the stock tabs on a 292 are almost useless. I wanted k plane merc but I keep my boat in the salt water a lot and everyone said the salt would do a number on the tabs anyways I was very pleased w them all the way down to plane and just a tap to smooth out the ride and they also install. Pretty quickly. Here's the link

I'm just gooking for an improvement without much customization.
Don't want to have to fill the old holes and do gel-coat work. If they make a direct bolt on replacement using the existing mounts then I'd be interested.

292 replacement trim tabs
I relaced my Bennetts with ASP racing trim tabs.Same mounting holes in transom and same mounting holes on the dual Bennetts.Work significantly better and a fair deal at $400.00 for the pair.Check out their web site.

Thanks for the aspracing link...I just ordered the last set.
Do they clear the bravo drives without cutting to fit? I see they have a nice taper...

asp trim tabs
Good move purchasing the ASP trim tabs. You will not be disappointed.
To answer your question, yes, the taper on the tab is designed to clear the outdrives.
A few of us from lake Winni purchased the tabs over the years with good results.
Dimensionally, they are similar to the Kplanes.
When ready for the install, remove rams from Bennetts, loosen up the transom mounting bracket, and slide the Bennetts out. Slide the new tabs in and tighten bracket, install rams on new tab.Done!
Now you will get on plane much easier and remain on plane at a lower speed.Yep,they work!
