Default GPS speeds 525hp 311 TRAMP

I got to gps my 311 (TRAMP) yesterday. 5300 rpm 73 mph. Think i can get any more out of her? I was thinking about trying new props. Im looking for some input.

That kind of props are on there now? How do they look? That boat with the original owner down in McHenry ran about 72 with the stockers, if I recall. Imho, if the motors aren't tired, you should be doing about 76-78, with a little chop. Have you checked the compression and gone through everything closely?

25 mirage's there is a couple of little imperfections and small nicks. the motors are 420's worked to 496's best of everything JE Pistons, H-beam rods, Mirlin heads ported and polished, big valves, dart intake's, Lightning Headers. Maybe I'm not triming enough? I run her about 6 on the gadge. It seems that the VDO speedo is only 4-5 mph of after all.

Default 311 speeds

When I first got my 311 w/bravo's a pair of strong 540's in it would get 78, and 80 on a good day.Now with stock 365's it's 65-66 any day.TRS is a bit slower than the bravo's.Your 73 mph is probably about right.

Default fixx

Tommy (RIP)claimed 82 mph but that was coming from Tommy,,power-source that oe did the motors claimed 600 hp each?? may be another fantasy,,i think if you want to get anymore speed out of the tramp you may want to try and find some speed master lowers for those trs drives..FYI run the tabs all the way up for max speed..

[IMG][/IMG]She's a monster out of the hole. I ran her today tabs all the way up trim at 6-7 73mph gps. will speed masters work with the TRS drives? What would i gain? the motors dyno at 525hp custom built trannies and trs's with bullet's. I've also been told the mirage and marage plus were the best prop's for the heavy deep V. 4 blade would take away from top end?

Default prop speeds

My 311 is 1 to 1.5 mph faster with old style 25 mirage props over the bravo 1 4 blade

the speed master II lowers will bolt up to your uppers but you will have problems finding the rite props for the lowers, the props are like 17'' in diameter and would work better if you were to raise the x dimention..i think your better off with what you have and try proping the boat, labbing the current props or even stepping up to a labbed 27p mirage + may be the ticket..
if someone has a set of revolution 4 props in a 25 p may be the ticket also,,thease props seem to run faster on the heavy boats.
