We all know the value is in the unique nostalgia. Even if you paid $15k and put another $20k into it, that's less than the depreciation hit you'd take on buying a newer boat.
I would be scared that $20k would be just the start. I understand the Kaama's are straight forward and standard parts, but the interior is probably scary, the engines of serious concern, and the stringers could be shoot sitting like that without a serious cover over it. A cheap blue tarp protecting that boat? Naw, you can get a running one for $30k +/- with better long term possibilities.

neat boat, but I agree it is going to sit there and rot until it is absolutely worthless, which it might be now.

I've looked at it. Its completely trashed. All the stringers in the engine compartment froze and split. The cabin is all ripped apart and has a sump pump in the floor. As you can imagine the vinyl is junk. I offered him $5,000 mainly for the trailer and some useable parts and he was dead set on $19,000 (thats what is was when I looked at it last fall) I called him a month ago seeing if he wanted to sell just the trailer and he said no because he is still waiting for the right buyer, I told him good luck

Its such a waste
