292 SR-1 with 502mag Speed??
I have found what I believe to be a really good deal on an older (incredibly clean and well maintained) 292 SR-1. It fits exactly what I've been looking for, and my dock!
But when I was speaking with the salesman, he said he drove it but "didn't really trim it out and run it hard".. He told me he thinks it would do "almost 65 mph!"
To me that seems low for a 29' boat with that much horsepower.
Can someone give me some real world numbers? The year is a 91 model with 502 mags and Bravo's

my 02 292 with 350mags 300hp each ran 70.3 GPS 2-3 weeks ago, so it sounds a little low, but without the steps and it being a little heavier than mine might get 70, but not much more??

Good luck getting any info outta that jackoff Ive been trying for 3 weeks, hasn't emailed or called me back, I wouldn't say its a deal unless you already made a lower offer, but could be a nice boat for the money bout should run between 68-70 based on my research, pawdog the sr1 is a completely different animal then your boat

Actually it is.. Were you talking to the salesman or the owner? The salesman is a personal friend of my familys and is always more than willing to return calls. We went over to the owners house and looked at it last night. Its an incredibly clean little boat. The batteries were too low to start it unfortunately, so we are going to try again on thursday because it was getting late in the day..
EDIT: Now that I think about it, he DID mention a guy from NY was looking at it but was trying to source a trailer for it. Might that be you?

Not even remotely the same boat. The 292 SR1 is nearly 3ft longer and nearly 2,000 heavier.

I had read some years back that the 292 wasn't as popular because the hull of the 311 was just as fast as the 292 with the same power. Based on a buddies 272 and then 357 I would agree a 292/502's should be real close to 70 if motors/drives/props were in good clean shape.
