LOL been there done that, went to Alabama for my 271, 5 yrs later went to Nashville for the 303, Just suck it up and go get it, and most NJ boats will be saltwater, if you can avoid it do it, went for the 303 in May 1400 miles cost me about 550 between fuel and a room for 1 night, me and the wife spent some great quality time with each other, it was awesome! ate like kings and smiled for 2 days straight!

On a side note we did have a fail all plan, if boat tanked we were gonna live it up in Nashville for the weekend, but I did alotta homework and was pretty confident, airfare was about 650, more then my entire trip, so we said screw it and just went down

when I went for the 271 a long time ago I took Dad great father and son time,

Anyone know if you could get away with towing a fastech 271 a long distance with a 1500 sierra? A 5.3L 4x4 with factory towing setup?

I pulled mine with a tahoe with a 5.3 for a while. with short wheelbase was ok but way better with a pickup truck. I just made sure always brakes on trailer were good.
