used to have a 357 too! what s your top speed eith 625 per side? for your platform mine was thru bolted to transon so had to loosen up those but also was kinda glued to transom... patience is the key!

It's simply bolted and glued on.......IMO the boat looks better WITH that platform. If you remove it, save it for the next owner as he might want it.

Swim Platform or Silent Thunder removal
Think twice before you remove it.
I did remove mine because I just had to see my exhaust, if drove me nuts not being able to see the water coming out of the tips.
I installed Gil aluminum exhaust, with the stainless steel elbows.
Then I installed the Impco exhaust tips. They have a rubber flapper inside and some type of baffleing system that does know the decibel level down somewhat.
Then I sold silent thunder exhaust to a fellow on here that damaged his, he was happy to get it.
I glassed in the holes and relocated them.
I ran the Impco exhaust tips, they have a rubber baffle inside of them along with some perforations inside of the tip that does take the snap out of the exhaust.
The only problem is that we do miss the swim platform, climbing up the out drives ok for an experienced boater but a green horn will slip and you know what happens then, if you miss the prop your lucky, but you can get a nasty bruise if your shin hits the tie bar. I still may toss an aluminum powder coated plat from on next season. Good luck with the project.

When I had my 311, I bought it with the platform already removed. I reinstalled it, but cut out the thin pieces of fiberglass that Formula uses as baffles. The square flappers were noisy as ever though.
I then removed the square tips and installed 4in round tips in there place and drilled a bunch of 1in holes in the bottom of the platform.
The bottom of the platform is in the water when off plane, and when the boat idled it sounded 100% better then the stock silent thunder did, but not too loud. Coming up on plane when the bottom of the platform came out of the water, the boat sounded good, never as loud as no platform, but good.
I needed a swim platform on my boat, this mod gave me the best of both worlds.
