Default 23p prop on a 242

hi all! im new to this boat and just wondering if anyone is running a 23p prop and how they like it cruise, out of the hole top speeds etc. The boat is an 89 242ls with a 454mag and bravo 1. I am currently running at 21p mirage and seeing 5k rpms and 56/57mph gps, I would like to get the rpm down a little and maybe see some better numbers up top.

I think you would be right where you need to be with a 21 mirage plus then.
Our 242 ran much better with the added cup of the stock mirage plus props. Carries the bow and rides much better with the added cup.

There is a cheap one to try listed here:

I am running the Mirage 21plus that came on my boat. Can only get 45 Miles per hour at around 5200 ( 454 /400hp). Salt water. Not sure whats wrong. Previous owner got 60 mph on lake.

Def something wrong there. Sounds like you're getting too much rpm and way too little speed. Are you trimming it out etc. Is that speed GPS or the speedo?
