Going to check out a 95 303 tomorrow, need some advice
Hey, I'm going to look at a 1995 Formula 303 tomorrow. It supposedly has new motors and indoor rack stored its entire life. What things should I pay most attention to? How do I check the drives and gimbals? Isn't there a way to lift up slightly on
them and see if they move? I'll bring a hammer to tap on the transom. Any other suggestions would be great!

I posted what I found in this thread. Nice hull, decent upholstery (albeit a bit wet for a dry stored boat), very questionable "new" starboard motor with low oil pressure and lots of blowby etc etc.
To top it off, the sales person is worse than a used car salesman from the 70's. Has a stupid rebuttal for any legit concern you might have. Like, (me) "Hey, I wonder why there is a off idle stumble on these motors? I would expect that from a carbed motor that's been sitting for a while, but not a efi motor!" Him: "Oh man, it's common for the EFI 454 & 502 mags Mercruiser have to have an off idle stumble, that's normal".
No wonder it's been for sale for over 4 months now.
