1987 223 ls
I have searched and have not been able to find any info on this boat that I am looking to purchase. Is there anything i should be looking for that doesn't stand out. It does have to poorly executed repairs on the cudy deck next to the hatches. Is this a common problem with these boats thanks for any advise. I would post pictures but the site wont let me.

Look at transom, stringers, and bulkheads for rot would be your main concern.

It's in Roxbury, NJ has a rebuilt 454 new bravo 3 drive. I am over 5 hours away so I have talked with him a lot looked at lots of pictures and videos but its still not like seeing it with your own eyes.

Why would they put a b3 on it? I guess maybe a little better efficiency?
|
Ins paid for it I guess go big or go home when someone else is paying.
|
Not really a big or home kind of thing though. Twice the props to buy, if I'm not mistaken they don't go any larger than a 26 maybe 28. Just odd to me to see on a 223. See more of that on real heavy boats like pc and other type like that.

I see I have a lot to learn been out of boating for 15 years. I suspect you will have great low end take off and suffer some top end speed would that be correct?
|
Pretty much. They come out of the hole great, they cruise great with minimal slip ratio. On the top they aren't as good due to having more in the water with the extra prop. You won't be racing it so you'll be fine.

Thanks
