Default New to me 1991 272 SR1

After a few years without my 223LS I got the bug again and started looking. Found this 91 in AL about two months ago and have been bringing it back to life. Lots of deferred maintenance but nothing crazy. Last bit I’m working on is a complete lack of panel lights?

Anyways the hour meter reads 600 and I think that’s accurate. Always freshwater. Right now it spins to 4200 with 25 Mirages... wondering if new ignition components will help that. Someone also converted it to electric fuel pumps and the whole setup seems anemic... will probably swap your Holley reds or blues during the off season. I don’t think many of these were built with magnums? Coming from the 223 with a single 454/330 this boat is very dependent and sensitive to tab input. Still learning but having fun. Also I forgot just how silent the ST platform was!

Damn clean looking boat. I’m always amazed at the care people take with these old birds.

Thanks! Where should those spin? I'll be on the lookout for a pair to borrow.

What’s the top speed of a 271 with mags. My 330’s runs 67 with a little fuel.

Are you trimming it up good at wide open? I had a 272 with 330s and spun 25 mirages to 4400 and 64 to 65 mph. With mags you should be spinning them faster than that.
