Default Props and gear ratios

just ran my new 292 with 6.2"s 1.50 gears 28 inch Bravo 1 labs, boat ran 66 mph @ 4600rpm I think I made a mistake when I ordered 1.50 gears, was anticipating getting Whipples and wanted the taller gear ratio Whipples are out for now what do you think, 26s or 1.65 gears? I know Merc sells most 6.2's with 1.65 gears

BF05,

I think your drive ratio is fine, but your props are too big. You could probable go to a 24 or 26 labbed 4 blade and run much better. It would also cost much less for a set of props instead of gear ratio change.
