Default o/b fountain

i no im crossing a line by posting a thread in fountain area, but i am very curious on the subject. contrary to the boat we own, i believe that outboards is arguably the best power for a reliable offshore boat. i know that there used to be a lot of scarabs rigged with outboards, but werent that fast with old innefecient hulls. i was thinkin about why they dont do those anymore (i no fountain rigs their sportfishers wtih outboards, but i am curious about more high performance boats) i thought with fountain being the most effecient hull in the business, and very lightweight would be a very good candidate for big outboards, like a 27 with twins 2.5 merc 280s. or a 32 with trips, would be an awesomely reliable fast boat, that would be very fuel effecient, maintainable, and environmentaly friendly not that i care but it would look good for reggie to be supporting tree hugging. i just felt like asking, and thought it woud be an interesting topic to hear about

us1-yes that is a pic of us leaving jamestown marina(where we keep the boat) in lake cumberland. do you boat at lake cumberland too?
i just asked this question because id think with fuel prices and everything, a couple outboards strapped to a 27 would be a fast effecient, reliable set up.

We used to hit LC several times a yr. when we traileed every weekend with the 27. Last couple yrs only made it once or twice each yr. with the 32 since we now have a slip. To much involved to bring it home for road trips. Beautiful lake and country there.

Don't confuse a 2 stroke out board with tree hugging. gotta be 10 x as bad as a stern drive for the environment
