Default My first 27 fever

Hey guys..I just bought my first 1999 27' with hp502 and I cant wait until spring. Im a sea ray guy (okay its only 18 ft.) but have been dying for a performance boat. The boat has only 84hrs and is SPOTLESS! My question is what speed should I expect, running a 26 bravo? RPM? What should have I paid (I paid 43k) Located in northern Va. usually run on the Potomac river or Lake Anna....any Fountain owners around?

Welcome to Fountain. You will love the boat!! There are many loyal owners here to help you.

Here is speed chart from early 2000's...I guess with 500HP you should be around 5200 rpms.

Have fun, start saving for a bigger, ffaster Fountain....

Ditto on the congrats. I too am about to buy my first Fountain (29 Fever 525). Hope to have it in Jan. but being in Fl. I will get to use it right away. If you feel that boat is getting lonely during its hibernation, take I-95 south

Congrats on the boat! I have the same boat. Do you have the 500HP or the 502 Mag? I have the Mag and turn a 24" Bravo left hand prop. I can turn it almost 5000 rpm for a top speed in the upper 60's. The boat came with a 23" Hydromotive and it would run right at 70. I switched to the Bravo because it planes out much better. Also the fuel mpg was much better than the Hydro. The Bravo prop porpoises above 65 mph and Im sure that scrubs off some speed. I have a 26" Left Hand Bravo labbed by Mercury Racing that I bought in hopes of solving the porpoising problem. I havent tried it yet but Im guessing that it will be about 1" too high in pitch. My boat is mostly stock with the addition of CMI headers.

My boat has 150 hours on it now.

How about some pics of your new baby?

Ron

Congradulations on the new boat, you will love it!!!! I have a 2001 27' with the 496HO and can get 67mph at 5000rpm running at 2000 elevation, you should be able to see that maybe alittle better. Sounds like a good price, i've seen them go for alot more then that, good luck spring is right around the corner now....LOL

Let's see 'em.
I hope spring isn't here yet. I still got things to do to my boat.
