Hey Monstaaa, I'd like to get some advice from you. What has been your experience with running extension boxes on smaller stepped 38's.

Some people say they are no benefit at all, while others say that while they don't give you any more top end speed, they make the boat feel like it's longer so they help the boat go through rough water a bit better.

Do you have any feelings on the subject?
the boxes do work, how everin my opinion they give a false sense of security in truly offshore conditions. which can lead to driver error causing financial and possibly physical damage.
speeds do rise , and depending on standard , 1/2 stager , or full stagger, handling is effected as well. planing times are ok, and docking conditions dochange pending drive heights and configuration.

all in all they are a help. its or imco are choice, stellings uses a solid hub coupler, which transfers harmonics thru the drive line from engine, and has produced significantly more drive failures because of this, stay away.

hope this was a help, and as well use honesty in making your decision.

good luck

and thanx for all the comments guys, i appreciate them all. and my porpose is to share my passion of being a motor head, not to be boastfull

What power did the boat come with from the factory? Repowering a basicaly brand new boat must be nice...you dont get your hands dirty taking out the "old" iron

originally had 525's with I.T.S. then we kicked in a set of 750's.blew 5 drives in 3 weeks. she ran 114/ 115. now she's getting the big guns.

also i must stress that this client indeed , as with all my clients, has a one off purpose built to order piece. it's just for him. it is absolutely intoxicating to be able to do what i do on a daily basis.
i love my job, and my client's for giving me opportunity.

one thing is for sure , it should be fast, look good going fast and most importantly keep my client safe. or as safe as can be at those speeds.

Hey Bo,
Since I have seen the boat two weeks ago it's really starting to come together now. Incredible job as I new you would do , you are really at the top of your game and I believe that you are at the top because you truley enjoy what you do. I can attest to this statement, reason being the art you performed on my Gladiator. Bo keep up the great work for you are Paramount in the world of offshore.
