Default 00 35

just brought home my new oo 35 hp 500 carbed after looking for a while. it has the signature addition graphics which I just removed and am going to leave it white for this season.Have a few questions if you guys can share some knowledge.
Props are turning out from factory and thinking of changing to in, I am used to it from driving my other fountain?
I noticed that where the drive bolts to the transom there is a plate 1/2" at the top and tappers to almost nothing, I asume it,s to give it more trim to get on plane, I have been told that the 00 has a lower X dimension than a 01 and am assuming this is something new because I never seen this tappered plate before?
On the fountain report an 01 with 500 efi's with 30 merc props turning in runs 87 and my 00 with 29 hydroes turnig out and carbed 500's runs 86 according to the report.
Question is that there can't be much differance in X dimensions if they are this close or am I missing something?

found out some info for 00 and up 35's, my 00 has 17" X- dimension with hydroes 01 went to 18 1/4" with mercs, and the new boats out are at 19" with mercs, so I am told by fountain. If I put shorties on it 2" it will be similar to new boat but would not get on plain with the hydroes I would have to change props.I am going to run as is for now.
Very curios if anyone has the tappered plates on there transom?
thks Joe

Just a question - How did you remove factory graphics?? Far as I know there all imron paint & cleared over. Did you sand them off? If so was that alot of work? & how did it turn out? BTW I think an all white boat looks great.

we scraped carefully with razor blade down to primer then wet sanded with 400 then 800 then rubbing compound then glaze. We just finished all sides only have deck to clean up and wax. Must be very careful with razor blade if not comfortable u may just sand off.
