keep a close eye on the j tubes they come loose and get stuck in the throttle body and cause the throttle to stay full. Had a friend loose his and the blower started chewing on them.

I had a 29 with the 525 ITS box and the best it ran was 83.
It had half a tank and was in mid spring. I had handling problems at 83 and getting on plane problems. my X dimension was 21"s , the ITS box droped it to 20"s then I added a 1" spacer. The prop slip came down but the best I would take it was 81. It got a lot of chime walk due to the prop was getting a better bite a lifting the transom. I also lost 300 rpms. I had the prop worked by bblades but sold the boat before a ran it with the new prop. Good luck
