Oil in 502s?

I am new here but recently purchased a 35 Lightning and was wondering which oil works best in the 502's?

M-1 15W-50 unless racing then M-1 V-Twin or Amsoil Racing Synthetic. A/C...Baldwin..Wix Racing..M-1 oil filters and Amsoil are all great

Re: Oil in 502s?

I had 200 hours on my 500 mpi's with whipples.Time to have a valve job. so I had a total rebuild from the crank up. anyway to shorten this story I asked if my oil was doing the job? Answer was the inturnals were perfect. That oil was Mobil 1 15 50 .

I always use the Merc oil. I 'think' somewhere I read where their oil has additives to combat the extra moisture marine motors work under. Anyone else hear of this?
