Hatch

My rear hatch on my 91 Fever weights a ton.How much should this thing weight or is it saturated with water?I would say it has to be about 300 lbs.Two guys struggling or three just having a hard time.Has any one had theirs apart? Is there wood in the base construction or maybe the bottom of the pads?I do get some water out of the cushions when I squeeze them, but I cant see it weighting this much.

Re: Hatch

Mine weighs a ton also. 300 sounds about right. The hatch itself is FG with reinforcement for structual.I imagine there is wood in there, but not sure. The pads are all separate and have wood base. The mounting nuts for the pads are under the plastic caps on the underneath side of the hatch.

Re: Hatch

Anthony,
Mine weighed a ton also. Removed it alone (with a backhoe). Still tripping over it in the garage.

I will give you a call Tuesday, Thanks Dan

Re: Hatch

Mine also weighed a ton, what I found was that after every thing was removed from it, it still weighed a ton. Built like a tank!
