45 degree exhaust tips on a 38

Anyone have any experience with these tips? My mechanic ordered a set and wants me to try them. This of course eliminates the stock "flapper" protection for reversion on the factory tips. They have internal flaps in them but I am concerned with reversion when backing off beach, etc. They look cool as heck though.
Input?
