Couple of questions:

I noticed there was a fair amount of black under the swim platform -Seemed a little excessive.
Does anyone know if this is normal for a 575sc? or normal for a Fountain due to the cavern created by the swimplatform?

They're asking 80k. NADA didn't list this motor.
Does 75-80 sound like a decent price for a 29 with a 575sc with 85 hours?

Anything I should look out for?

It seems expensive to me if you consider that you can buy 35 ex's with 500's in the 90K range all day long - and that is a whole lot more boat than a 29 - for just 10K more.

Also if your engine requires 87 octane and you use 92...you will see an increase of exhaust soot. Use the required octane..no more...you will run better.

Good point, plus you have the reliability of a milder engine x2 just incase you break down...oh and you will have a break down. Nothing is worse than being towed in by a couple old (nice guys) with a 9.9 merc.

Mercrusier engines are designed to run on 87 octane and will soot up the transom and loose horsepower if you run higher octane. The engine does not require it and runs better without high octane. Try one tank of 87 and see for yourself. good luck Matt

along way from home! Black river headed to the dock from the St. Claire river. We just put in after towing for 8 hrs and forgot the "emergency" coil in the truck.
20 minutes later we were rock/rollin...

I think the 575 runs on 92 octane. I would make sure.
