Default 38 lightning

I am thinking about buying a new 2007 38 lightning. I have never owned a fountain before. I would be intersted in the pros and cons as you members see them. I would get the boat with merc. 525's and XR 1 , ITS, shorty sport masters.

thank you John

We just got back from the Louisville boat show. LCM had a beautiful 38 with 700's and #6's. I guess that's the only way Reggie will rig his 700 packages because he doesn't like the way Fountains handle with the nxt drives.

The cockpit is tighter but that increase in speed is incredible. They say if it doesn't do better than 110 Reggie won't let the boat leave the factory.

Overall it's a great looking boat.

I love the looks of the new Fountains. What would a later model say 1998-2001 run with equal power?

John, have you been buy Sports USA Marine in St. Pete/Terra Verde yet? I bought my 38TE there and as a customer of theirs they have really taken care of me after the sale with some small warranty issues and then the usual 100hr engine service. If you buy your Fountain from them the service on any problem is quick and they even send their guys out to your boat where ever you keep it.

If you have not been to Sports USA Marine yet I will be at the dealer on Monday because my boat is there getting the depth finder transducer fixed and a full detail job. I will be more than happy to introduce you to the right people.

see ya, Mike Carter
