Good looking boat. Had a 2000 Lightning, with 500 EFI's ran 88 on speedometer, 85 on gps.

what kind of insurance quote can I expect. I haven't heard back from them yet and I hope I don't have a coronary when I get that number. What should I expect?

enjoy your lightning, it should run 82 to 84 mph on any day.

The big companies will tell you they won't. But they will! Start with who has your house and cars. There has been several forums on insurance over the last couple of years...I think you can find them if you look long enough. I have a twin to your boat..only diff is mine has purple lightning bolt down the side. I agree with all the speed estimates. I trust you are not new to powerboating?? If so, please be very careful. This is a great way to learn almost everything quickly except seat time! Good luck and congrats! whip

Sharp boat, nice combo. Try Mid Missouri Yacht for insurance. They're great to deal with. Ask for Suzanne. 573-302-0500.
