2007 35' Executioneer x-dim?
Just another piece of information that I am trying to gather before pulling the trigger on shorties for my boat. Does anyone know the x-dim that Fountain is using on the current 35' single step? And, what prop are they using for that set-up. Thanks.

I think that I have found the answer. I spoke with Fountain this morning, and found that the boat produced just after mine had an x-dim of 16 3/4 (they didn't have any record of boats produced prior to that). So assuming that my 35 has the same x-dim (it did run the same speed) and 34"center, it should be a good candidate for a shortie. The new Executioneer has an x-dim of 19. I know they are running the new 35s with 1.65 gears, while mine has the traditional 1.50.
Any flaws in my reasoning?

How much shorter are you thinking?
I would imagine an 07 Ex is pretty aggressive already.
Also you might need 5 or 6 blade props to hook up.

My 2001 35' is 2 1/4" below the 2007 Executioneer. I was thinking a -2" shortie. Hopefully, I could still use a labbed Bravo 4 blade. I think they are still using a 4 blade prop on the new Executioneer?

What Fountain told you in terms of the newer Executioners X dimension fits what I have heard over the past few years. Some of the Exe's, the 1.65's w/ 32's, can reach speeds very close to the older boats, like ours, w/500's. The gear/prop combo makes them a little slow getting there, but the top end is there. As far as props, the Exe's are using the Bravo 4 blades and those I've been around seem to work fine in terms of on plane etc. Other props may work even better.
I would be interested in knowing if anyone has run the -2" gearcases and tried the Hydromotive regular Quad 4's, not the fuller blade Q4X, or the Hydro P5's, again not the fuller blade design P5X, and what the results were. The reason for my interest is that I feel the single step 35 has a better running attitude with the Hydromotives. The lab Bravos I have work very well. They do a better job in the lower and crusing ranges but the top speed handling feels better with the Hydros. The Hydros seem to pick the stern of the boat better, resulting in a more level running attitude. Where the Bravos want to carry the bow higher. In my case the boat runs almost identical speeds with both designs, stock 26 Hydros vs. the lab finished 28 Bravos. At any given RPM, up to the low 4000's, the Bravos will carry a little more speed, From there up the Hydros start to work a tick better. I believe this is the difference in blade design, the fuller blade Bravo will hold better and slip less, the semi cleaver Hydro shines when the RPM/speed gets up there.
Anyone out there, even the guys with the newer Executioners, try the Hydromotive Q4's or the P5's with these higher X / short case set ups????????

My last boat was a 05 35' EX It came with 32 B1s. I put on a set of labbed 32 maximus 5 blades. Holeshot greatly improved, midrange improved 4-5 mph and lost maybe 1 mph on top end.
