Recommended upgrades on 88 Fever
Whats up everyone, yesterday was my first run in decent weather with the rebuilt factory props. I'm running an 88 Fever 27 with 330's and bravos. The props are counter rotating 25P Quicksilver 3 blades. With a full tank of gas 125gal, and three people I saw 63.8 GPS on glass @ 4,650 before I VERY quickly got reminded that I forgot to refill the drives with lube by having a motor shut down. (Fried the top bearings on one drive on the input shaft). Idled back on the other while stopping every minute to let everything cool. I was only about a 1/2 mile out.
The end question is what would be recommended in terms of more performance out of the boat? Shorties, labbed props etc.
Also another question, What would the measurements be for the mechanical indicators. My drives fully tucked only go to 3 on the indicators. Any help would be much appreciated.

are your props Mirages?.......or Quicksilvers??.......can you post the model numbers on the props......Ive found with mine the prob it has is too much wetted surface.......the 23 Quicksilvers wouldnt carry the bow like the my 21 Mirages will.....I picked up speed there and the boat loosened up at top speed.......the Mirage Plus is the fastest prop for a non step as far as I know (anyone know of anything better?).....I REALLY want to try a set of Rev 4s though......labbing will give 2 or so, same with shorties.....
plus you should go for a top speed run naked with no gas ......like we all do ......
you still got stock exhaust??......ditch it.....pick up some HP and take 200lbs off the back of the boat
heres the questions (IMO).....do you want to keep the boat?......and how fast do you want to $$ go??

Just bought this in Jan '07. I was told the props are old mirages with a quicksilver number, P/N Quicksilver 48-13707-A40-25P (Port) and 48-13706-A40-25P (Starboard). Still running stock exhaust, motors rebuilt with new manifolds less then 20 hrs ago. I will look into after market exhausts. (will I need to rejet?) I do plan on keeping it as I just got it, and I'd like to see 75 gps one day.
I'm 1000 ft' above sea level on fresh water
I was planning on doing 27P 3 blade labbed mirages
It floats
