props for 42
Anybody running stock(non-labbed) 30p Maximus on their 42? I was told that they are not very effective as is and need to be labbed. I am looking for better planing and efficiency at cruise. Thanks

I ran the 30 on my 06 with 525's (non Lab) and could only get to 4800 rpm...I believe U are right you need to lab them to get the correct rpm's but I believe it can be done.......BZ

I had a set of 28P non-labbed Maximus and I think I like those better. I traded them for the 30P labbed. They seem to come out of the hole and on plane better, still had great mid-range and top end was about the same. The only problem with them was that I hit the rev-limiter quite a bit. It would bounce off the rev-limiter any time I got a little air. If I had to do it all over again I would have kept the 28P and had BBlades work them to keep my rev's down but still give me a little extra on top end and maintain cruise and hole shot.

Easy,
My 42 has sportmaster shorties and it came with 32 labbed maximus with the diffuser ring. Its a 2004 but it was dialed in by Brian Forehand at Fountain...91MPH (at 36F air temp in March).
We have so much trash on the river lately that I am running my non-labbed 32's that are back-ups.
The non-labbed props give up nothing in the mid-range and out of the hole. They give up about 4 mph on the top end and about 300RPM. I think the shorties are why I can turn 32's and not 30's.
