29 Fever
I've been a voyeur here for awhile and I'm thinking about upgrading from my 2000 Cobalt 206 to a 2006 29 Fever. The 29 has a 525 with 100 hrs and 35 hrs on the motor. A new 525 was installed in 2007 due to an unseated valve on the original. Does anyone know what the original list price on this boat (std options) was and what would be a reasonable price? Boat has a tandem axle aluminum trailer.
Thanks,
Greg

Is it the boat in Tampa, FL? If so, he started out asking upper 90's. Ask him for the hull ident number and then call Fountain - they can tell you exactly what options it had when it left the factory and MSRP.

A 29 Fountain with 525efi, is one of the few boats that demand is still high for them. For 79K you can buy a hell of allot of boat today. If this is exactly what you want go for it. but I would really look around.

A freshwater 05 29 with a 525EFI, no trailer, just sold at Lake of the Ozarks last week for 59K. From the pictures I saw, it was in excellent condition. It was a bank repo at Heartland Marine. Last fall, one person here on OSO bought a 2005 29 with 70ish hours, tear away flag graphics on a painted Myco trailer for ~ 65K.
Just a couple of reference points.

See if the guy in Tampa will take any less. Worst he can say is no. Boat looks nice in the pictures. Its only a 2 - 3 year old boat and it really depends on how he took care of it, ie, keeping the engine flushed and the remainder of the boat sprayed down and/or washed. That boat probably had an MSRP between 149K -169K, or maybe a little higher depending on options, and probably could have been purchased 109K - 119K range, but those numbers are only an educated guess.
