Did Fountain do any of the design work on these boats? I'm not seeing any resemblance

I don't think Fountain had anything to do with Challenger Boats.

No...Harry Schol designed the hull. It is called a DDC ( Duo Delta Conic).

DDC-28 Challenger
Hey Therapy Session --- I think that boat of yours looks familiar.

You know... this year my old patroil boat could only "run with you"... but next season.... Your gonna be drinking spray... that is if I dont spin out!

I bought 2 boats from a marina that won a few national championships in a challenger. The guy who owned the marina was the throttle man when they raced. He said it was the best boat hull he had ever run and he has driven a lot of performance boats.
I also saw a gold one with a great paint job at the Chicago boat show a few years ago. The boat good and the company people at the booth were really nice.

DDC-28 Challenger
I must say... I have a DDC-28 1997 model and really like it. It is built like a tank in my opinion.. It is an EX Missouri Water Patrol boat I purchased and am redoing as a project. Mine according to some reading here on OSO is either number 11 or 12 that came from Harry Schoels production run in Ohio. It is rock solid and thick. It has the original 454 Mag carb engine with nearly 1900 hours on it and runs spotless. I have all service records since inception documenting hours and maintenance.. I replaced the bravo three it originally had with a bravo 1 and she will run just at 60mph. Boat AND trailer before I added the cuddy interior and stereo system weighed in at 7325 pounds. So mine is Not a light boat. I have built a fresh 500EFI long block for it that is on the stand and am now planning on going with a blower as I want some speed out of her. Anyone familiar with these boats with 500-750 hp? Maybe 500 will be enough?
