Default Side glass

I have a 98 32' fever with fogged side glass. I think previous owner may have used glass cleaner with ammonia. Has anyone tried replacing it? Any suggestions?

I replaced both mine, '99 32'. Not a hard job to do, just takes time. Once the panel is installed, use tape to run along the seam on both the panel and the hull were you'll apply silicone, both inside and out. (Inside is a little more tricky) Makes for a nice straight edge and keeps the mess to a min. Apply the silicone, run your finger along it to force the gap full, then pull the tape away from the seam.

I guess my main concern is how to remove the side glass without causing damage to the boat. It feels like it's still screwed in even after taking the screws out, seems like black 5200.

p.s. the slinky thing....

It's just the silicone at both the inside an outside edge still holding it on. You can cut it with a razor blade to help loosen it, or just pull. Make sure you remove the screws/corner peices too.

Thanks for the info guys. A friend of mine is a painter, he's going to spray them with dark tinted clearcoat, works great on plexiglass.

Sounds like you may have a solution here, but a thought .............

Have you considered trying to wet sand and buff them up? I've done this to get rid of small scratches and haze on both of the Fountains I have owned. If your damage is surface type it might work for you. Also might try some of the products that are made for the new plexi headlight covers on cars, I believe Maguires has a kit for this. If your friend is in the auto body biz you might talk to him and see what he thinks. I would take a shot at fixing what you have before the cosmetic cover up approach, just a thought.
