There was a guy locally that claimed the fastest 29 ever...something around 110 I believe. Kept killing XR's, then killed a couple Konrads, finally reduced power so he could boat on a regular basis.
(I'm close with these details but know I don't have them exact, hopefully someone will fill in the exact info)

There was a guy in Naples, Fl I talked to on OSO about a year ago that said he had a single blown CHIEF 598 and claimed his 29 did 105mph all day long. (if you read this please chime in!!)

I rode in the Crowd Pleaser at 105....definitely had to drive through some chine walking between 85 and 90....after that it wasn't too bad.....he was going through XR's like candy and then switched to a B-max....the B Max held up better but when he did have a problem he did not have much luck with the manufacturer....I agree with Russ...the boat's other attributes were much more impressive than its speed

I would like to hear some details about that 119 mph 29. I am most curious about which drive is being used, as well as HP.
BTW...The Crowd Pleaser was fastest with the standard XR drive and 6 blade Hering. We had the prop slip down to about 3%, so we were not wasting any of the HP.(May have wasted a little grinding up those Bravo gears)

I think the last drive that Mark had was Max Machine. He tried several different ones. He actually pulled engine raised X . 6-blade herring I think . Somewhere around 1100 to 1200 HP. It handles pretty well. I was thinking around 115. Not bad for single 29
