Default 04 496 mag ho ?

in my 27 fever . It was throwing an iac code and the engine was down to 89% horsepower . I replaced the iac and the warning buzzer went away . I was wondering if the power automatically goes back to 100 % ?. My mech cleared the codes and told me not to tun it on until i replaced the iac which i did .. She did run 66 mph with 5 on board afterwards , lol ..

IAC = Idle Air Controller. The computer should see that the problem has been corrected (ie, IAC functioning properly, warning buzzer stopped) and should be happy, returning 100% power.

Mercury seems to have issues with IAC's on many of their engine models. The 6.2MX's were really bad for cooking IACs. Dustin (Whipple Charged) just had some posts in another thread where the 700's are having issues with them and causing ECM's to fail, too.

I seen the other post, sucks that it would cause the ECM to fail, that's not cheap.

Idle Air Control .. little valve on the top of the bell housing . there is a hose running from the throttle body back to it .
