I Bought a (Reggie) Foutain boat. It is still a (Reggie) Fountain boat. They have updated to a new logo, name and place of buisness but they will still be building Reggie Fountain boats. Just updated.

I sure wish he came up with a better name than RF. Makes me think of Rat Fink, or fraternity pranks (Rat F**k).
The name should be something attractive to the buyer and owner, not just an ego boost to the seller. Sure, people want the new boats because Reggie Fountain is behind them. We get that. We also get that "Fountain Powerboats" is the best name, but its not available.
Consider Aronow's boat companies:
Donzi -- named after The Don, but has some enduring cachet.
Cigarette -- long, thin, sexy (used to apply to cigs)
Formula -- racing!
Apache -- on the warpath
Magnum -- a big gun
USA Racing -- pretty clear value statement right there.
I would think some name that conjures up the IMAGE of the company is the best name. Consider some of the names people use for their boats, might be a good start.
For example: Wild Thing.
