Default Help - need replacement anchor for 01 42 Fountain

Lost my anchor & chain this weekend. I have an 2001 42 Fountain Lightning. Does anyone know what brand of anchor it is. I had heard it was a Fortress. If so is it a FX-16 (shank length 31 in, fluke length 18 in, & stock length 25 in or FX-11 (shank length 27 in, fluke length 16 in, & stock length 22 in. Will I have to buy a new 1 from Fountain to get it to be able to lock into place. If anyone has easy access to their boat (35-42) could you check. I got the measurements off of Fortressanchors.com. Thanks for the help.

You can buy a Fortress from tons of places. I bought mine from Defenders.

Don't believe it's a Fortress, mine is polished stainless steel. If you want the dimensions just ask, would be glad to get some measurements for you.

Mine is also a polished stainless, about the same size blades as a Fortress fx-11, but shorter cross shaft and shank. My fx-11 holds way better.

I think they cut the cross shaft so it will fit in the locker.

Its made by Fountain if you want one like you lost.. I took mine out and use it for a stern anchor and bought a fortress slip ring type and use it on the bow instead (works better)

thanks for all the helpful info. looks like cutting down the Fortress is the best way. I am going to borrow my friends anchor out of his Fountain & cut the Fortress down to match

If you have a fx-11, dont cut the cross shaft. It will fit as it is. At least it does on mine. Bill
