Default front galley bildge pump - black box?

My front bildge pump ran the battery completely dead while being stored..... after charging the batter for a while, I could hear some clicking coming from the floor board. . . . And its coming from the black box. There's no water anywhere in the boat .. .. this black box was clicking like nuts. ... on and off really fast, then to a solid on full time, even after the mast power is off. Batter had to be fully disconnected before it would quit.

Is this a level float control?

EDIT: This is located in the first step into the cabin area. The black box has a constant hot 12v sorce wire, there's no switch to the dash, and there's no light to indicate that it's running.

yes, looks like a water sensor. Do you have a switch on your dash to turn that bilge on manually? Looks wired to be either auto or manual mode or sends a signal to a light on your dash sayings its on?

Its a water sensor that seems to fail a lot.

That bilge pump doesn't have a switch on the dash. On my 32 there isn't even a spare. On my list to do when I get back to working on the boat.

has anyone replaced theirs, or did you use some other after market float switch?

if you did, is there a part number for the orginal?

if you used an after market one, what did you go with, or did you use/add another switch on the dash

it would be easy to just install a float switch in there. Rough and area up and get some 5200. I am not sure what the 3rd wire is going to though?
