I would say, in that case yes. But I've seen them run 91-93 with 525EFI's. I've also seen performance reports with 95-96 numbers. I honestly don't think it's far off.
Keep in mind where Fountain does their reports...on the Pemblico River. Just about every one I have seen is a little faster than real world conditions. I dont disagree with you though...a perfectly dialed, ideal water and air in a 38 w 525s and labbed props may see low 90's.

Yeah, the reports are abit out there. Dialed a friends 38 in a few yr's ago, and it ran 91-93 with Throttle-Up props.
Even if running "only" 82-83, that is not too shabby, and one helluwa reliable and "cheap-to-run" package.

Just wondering with 496's what this boat would run with a normal load.

What is it worth with 496's? Looks nice, I like the dash layout, and silver paint.
I know the boat. He is local here in eastern N.C.. You have probably never met anyone that is as particular as the owner is. I have never ran beside him @ wot but it seems to cruise well. As a matter of fact, thats all I've seen him do is cruise hince the name 45 MPH FRANK.

I've spoken to the owner. When it came out of the factory with -2's it ran a bit over 80's with a normal load and ideal conditions. With the current setup of standard length XR's it's running 75 under normal conditions.

Great looking boat.

Did he say why he went to standard length lowers?

Yea yea I'll get my check book out! Just seen it and thought it was nice but never seen one with 496's.

What does a 38 weight?
