After doing a good bit of homework, I decided on an '01 35 Lightning. For what I wanted, it fits the bill perfectly. 500 EFI's run nice, the boat is well built and nicely rigged. The 35 is a perfect size for my needs. Still feels like driving a sports boat but has all the goodies I need. I just wish it was not winter now. That is all good though because I can set things up the way I like them and it will be ready to go on those first cool spring days!

Oh my Donzi was fast, fast fast! I was ready to move to twins and this was just right. The wife LOVE'S it.

Oh I have it hidden away in Chattanooga where Eddie can't find it! I give it a couple of months before it goes to visit Eddie. My stuff always seems to find it's way over there. When freshen time comes.....look out!

I don't know if you have driven one of these Jim, but you will need to when you come up to Chatt. It is a great handling boat. I would not mind bringing down to the Buiz homeland. Plenty to do there in one of these!

I did. That was an awesome boat. I am going to miss ambushing people in that boat. My favorite exercise was to run along at 60 or so and wait for someone "victimize" a 26 foot boat with a single. I guess folks thought it had a 454 or something. I would usually run to 70 or so with them and then drop the hammer. That boat pulled hard to 90 and still pulled decent after that. I usually did not have to push it past 85. It got kind of crazy much above 85.

It was time to move to twins though.

We can do the same with this one. It's just gonna cost twice as much.
THat 26 was a bunch of fun to drive. I'm actually gonna miss it to. That boat surprised a TON of people. I know it surprised John that day he drove it. It surprised him so much that we almost went for a swim.
