repairing stress cracks
Hello, New to the forums. I have a 47 fountain i have decided to fix the stress cracks around where the windshield bolts to fiberglass.
My question is this. I want to try to prevent these from coming back after i repair and i am wondering if there have been any inprovements in the recnet years to prevent the cracking.
I own a body shop and we sometimes use a nut that is encapsolidated in rubber and swells when tightened (to installl Mirrors on doors). I just wonder if this might be a better method rather than screwing straight to fiberglass?
Any suggestions on my quest?
chris

If the cracks are originating from the screw holes themselves, countersink the drilled holes so the gel is past the bolt dia
