Default Merc SmartCraft Vessel View system on a 2000 500EFI?? Will it work?

Hello everyone - I have a 2000 47 with Trip 500EFI's and am wondering if the Merc SmartCraft Vessel View system will work with my boat? I know the later model boats had this option from the factory... just not sure about the 2000 model 500EFI motors?

My main goal here is to bring all system information back to one place so I can easily view it. If I just go by all of my gauges it's like flying the space shuttle...

Thanks in advance for the help guys!!!

I would think for $15-$20K it can be done. That is why we listen to our warning lights.

HA!!! that's awesome...

My thoughts were that I could plug into the View junction box and everything would integrate. The View system is around 1k on ebay... so if it is not a "plug and play" type of situation then I'll keep watching my warning lights...

I beleive that the HP 500efi will not intergrate into the vesselview system. I was actually douing some research on this particular problem the other day.

The 525efi have a system that is all in one display on the newer boats. 500efi shares the same program. At least according to my scan tool.

I know my scan tool adapter MEFI 1-4 are the same plug. Didn't know they are different systems. Both scan the same.

But how much information is on the older system?

Might be the same protocol but just not a lot of engine data available.
