Yes, and it will only cost you $120 if you sign up before you break something. I can do it over the phone if you like

I thought Fountain tested all of the boats to ensure they were correctly propped?

I'm totally new to the "go fast" boating scene. Our first boat was a POS Dynasty, then had a VIP runabout, then a Yamaha wakeboard/jet boat and now this Fountain. Quickly learning as much as I can.
I'll bet you've got a 1.65 gear ratio now that I think about it as long as the previous owners haven't changed anything. I think I remember reading somewhere that Fountain was putting a 496/B1X 1.65 combo in there 27's which would put your slip a 9-14% which is very good. With used boats sometimes it's hard to tell. Take my boat for example, from Fountain it had a 525/XR combo and when I got it, it had a 496/B1.
Anyway if you have your performance report it will tell you all this stuff and if you don't I'd recommend getting one. You can call Fountain, ask for Tony Vick or Gail and they can get you one. It's free but you might want to hurry.

Thanks for the info. Checked everything I got from the last owner and no performance report. I am pretty confident the boat is as it was when it left the factory. I have e-mailed Tony.

I've got 200 hrs of wheel time messing with props and such on that set-up. I'm sure its a HO, 1.65 turning a 28 and it came from the factory that way. If you are getting a true GPS speed of 67 or better I would'nt touch a thing! Ive ran everything I could get my hands on prop wise on my 27. Nothing turns better than a 28 bravo. The only thing that you might want to try is a labbed finished 30. The HO stops making power around 5000rpms with a rev limiter or 5150. So if you can get that RPMs up on a stock 30 to 4800 or better I would labbed it and try that. Last but not least the Tachs are not perfect spot on accurate so a second mini tach is also a good idea. Good luck! Enjoy the new boat

Got the performance report. Confirmed that it's a 1.65:1 ratio. During the test, it says WOT at 5200, but they also had the trim at 5. Top speed was 70 - 73.

I guess i won't be touching a thing. Just wanted to confirm.... Thanks everyone for all of your help.

Glad to help. Have fun with your boat and welcome to the Fountain family! That's a very nice looking 27 by the way.

I have an 05 Fountain 27 496HO. It has a 28p Bravo prop on it.
runs 68 by the GPS speedo. Fountain report says 69. I tried BB 31 Lab prop. I think it is turned down to 30. Sent it back twice to BB blades. Not as fast out of the hole and 2 mph slower. It is now my spare prop. My boat is fastest with the tabs at 2.5 and the drive at 5 and the 28p prop.
