Default 10 Meter

Hi, everyone, especially my Fountain friends out in Chicago...
I've finally gotten Rio out of mothballs and put her back in "new" condition. Better than ever I must say. I'm going to poker run it mid to late summer/fall. A few events and I'm happy. As soon as Anthony Smith of Wazzup racing engines here at home finishes up my blown 540's we'll be on our way. He said we ( he's my throttleman) will be able to run 130 when he's done- that's his opinion, I'm too old for that anymore.....
100 is fine with me. My 750 Supercat race engines were killin me.... had to run 7000 to be up over 100.....race fuel.....popped them a couple of times too...Can't wait to get her out. Never had blowers, so this is a first for me. He said around 4200 and we're cruisin', very nice indeed.
But now after the great recession put me in my place, my boating passion is back and that's why Rio is getting back on track.
But I'm having a mid-life crisis now and miss my old 10 meter badly. Instead of getting a young girlfriend ( i'd love to, but my wife would kill me) and buying a motorcycle ( they still scare me) I'd be very happy with an 89 down 10 meter in not good condition. Bad is fine as I own 2 shops that can take care of any of that and plenty of room in my shop for one. I want a resto project so we can finally go out to dinner or something again. Rio will take care of the need for speed, this one just has to be pretty.Don't need motors, drives, nothin.
I have all the time and resources. Anybody see anything in need of TLC, give me a shout.
Take care everybody and maybe see you somewhere in Rio.
Your friend, Rich

Tom,
it looks beautiful, thank you for offering it to me. But I spent a small fortune on Rio this past year and wanted to do a resto project like the one on classic offshore. I'm jealous.....
Thanks, Rich

Post some pics up of what you have or whatever you get. My father and myself are bringing a 83 10 meter back to good condition now( have a thread in classic offshore) What kinda power and drive set up do plan to have to push that boat in the 130 range. Keep us posted.

Well, it set a class record at 125 with the Supercats and some trick, trick props that Reggie got, So they were 750's,510's single carbs. These are 540's, 871 blowers and some 5 blades in the 35 range. Should have about 900 the builder said. I don't doubt him one bit, but will let you all know(honestly) after done mid July.

And sure. as soon as I find something, I'll do what you're doing. I bought a brand new one in 89 and had it 15 years. Like a dope I sold it.So I wanna do it again and replicate what I had.

Damn would like to find out what the TRICK props were LOL. The one we have is basically been gutted cabin wise, just seats in there now, has had the bottom done, converted over to bravo's, have a set of 555's that should make 7xx hp NA or so... I take it yours had number 3's or trs's at the time or 6's ?. Can't wait to see it finished, hurry up. hahaha

John,
you do realize I'm talking about the raceboat in my avatar, right?

My 89 10 meter had 420 TRS and ran 75. That will be fine for going out to dinner and things like that.

Hahahaha...
nah, it's Rio that goes that fast...... I just wanted a 10 meter to relive my youth, hahaha..... Not easy taking Rio to restaurants for a burger.....won't even try, lol..
Just want a bay bomber when I'm not at an event, that's all.
Just the way I had it.....

Many pics when I find one.
Thanks, Rich
