With the 114LSA cam, unless you have dry exhaust, is probably your best bet from a reversion standpoint. However, if you run dry exhaust, you probably could have squeezed more power out of a different profile. I think to get 700HP out of a N/A 540, your gonna need more cam. Im just guessing here, but your HP maybe peaked under or around 5500RPM? More cam, more RPM, like say 6000, would probably get you closer to your number. 700HP from a N/A carbed 540, can be alot to ask, and it will be a Hot motor, big cam, high rpm, borderline pump gas compression, ported heads, etc.
Kind of thinking the same thing. Your only talking a 10% change, things like how it was hooked up both times, fuel, air temp, etc could all have a play. Was it the same dyno? From what I know you hook an engine up to a dyno 10 times they will all be different, question is your loss an acceptable deviation etc.

I have the same set up in my '98 42 side by side, I was told by the previous owner they were 630hp, they are 540 bowtie blocks, brodix heads & intake with a 1050 dominator, not sure on the rest of the spec's I was told they were build by Gelner out of OH, I see 85-87 depending on the load & heat, turn them up to 5400 with 29p5x standard length bravo drives, You should see similar results with your set up

Motors,I think different cam's would pull out some HP .They should pull 700 with no problem. That after all you have done is a small thing.JOHN SR

Anyway you can post the dyno sheet But white out the builder/shop name if you want to keep that quiet?

Remember, sometimes when you change one thing it takes other changes to make it all work together.
