Back side. Not sure why I took this pic? possibly for the helm bolt clearance detail. Been some 5 yrs or so. It slips over the helm shaft and uses a set screw to secure. I turned it to match the taper and Dia of the hub. I think I still have the sketch of when I made it. I keep all those worthless prints.
Sketch??can you post it?

what are the 4 dimples for?does it turn with the wheel or no?

They are clearance for the tips of the 4 castle nuts that bolt the helm to the dash. I coulda just used regular nuts and not had to add them, but wasn't but a couple extra min to add and just leave the helm as was in case I didn't lke the adapter. Also it's counterbored to clear the flat spacer/washer so that it sits flush to the dash. I did just the dimples vs couterboring the complete back side out in order to leave more material there to locate it on the hub and give room for the set screw. No it does not turn. It is held tight to the shank of the helm by a set screw. The sketch will be at work. I'll look thru my 'boat file' Monday and see if it can be used to make a part or if I just jotted down some of the key points.

Even with us1 picture any good machinist could make it for you they would just need flange diameter, steering shaft diameter and distance from wheel to flange and back of steering wheel diameter. Find a shop and have them quote a one off piece. Once you regain concessions from price shock I wouldn't mind helping you out. If you don't plan on saltwater use you could use aluminum and polish it and then clear anodize be a lot cheaper.

Stainless steel like the one us1 made or aluminum? Mines aluminum but I had trim on the wheel when I bought the boat so when I took it off I just made something really quick with what I had laying around.
