Props, In or Out?

More often than not a Fountain will run better, note better here, and quicker turning "IN".
Far as all the poo poo about the docking, just that. Learn to dock your boat as it works best, or settle for something less. One spends the entire day on the water, one docks at the end of the day. Life is full of choices.

WOW you guys make me feel a lot better, thought I was alone when I launch at the ramp I spin it around as soon as I can because that two hundred foot canal and fighting the breeze makes me look like a fool.

On most Fountains, and a few other boats, "In to Win". When I got mine, docking was tough to learn and I felt , AND LOOKED, like a fool at first. But I finally went in the damn thing by myself, wife on the dock, and worked with it for an hour or so several times until I learned it. The key is that the bottom of the prop drags the boat a little sideways. I can crab my boat pretty well in low wind towards the dock on my right with wheel all the way right and port engine forward and starboard engine in reverse. Get out and PRACTICE.

I fin interesting people say inboard wheels makes docking tougher. I haven't tried with a sport boat so I don't know. My smallblocks/alphas rotate same direction. However I do drive a 150-200 foot vessels for a living and inboard wheels makes these easier at the dock especially if you don't use the bow thruster. Can't wait till I buy a fountain and try it out.
